Koh Lipe Sunrise Beach
As the name suggests, Sunrise beach offers visitors beautiful skies during the early morning. Stretching the entire length of the Eastern side of Koh Lipe, Sunrise beach is called “Haad Chao Ley” due to the Chao Ley village being located there.
Protected from heavy rains and offering a cool breeze to visitors, Sunrise beach promises some of the best snorkelling waters in Koh Lipe. In order to enjoy the best coral this beach has to offer visitors are advised to swim far enough from the shore to reach the coral reef.
Sunrise beach looks towards a small islet called Koh Kra that can be reached and explored by visitors. Snorkelling around the islet is usually rewarding with many tropical fish/corals. During stronger winds visibility in the area is reduced so please plan your timing carefully to get the most out of your snorkelling trip.
Accommodation on Sunrise beach is not as plentiful as that available on Pattaya beach. There are however a number of options available to those who wish to stay there.
There are shops and restaurants nearby in addition to a school and hospital.
Sunrise beach can suffer from a litter problem at certain times of the year (it is worse during the Low/Wet season when debris is washed into the sea by growing rivers) so please take the time to check the condition of the beach before you commit to staying.
During times of increased rubbish levels, broken glass is often present in the sand and caution is advised if footwear is not worn.
